Girls are from Venus

There is NO doubt in my mind that we all come to earth with our own unique spirits. Isn't it funny that girls just automatically pick up a baby or makeup, while little boys seem to be programed to play with balls or cars. Well Lily went with me to the mall today, and had the best time at her new favorite store.... CLAIRES! I let her pick something out, and she picked this cute little purse with makeup in it. At first I was like "oh no" but it actually turned out to be a lot of fun!She did a great job on her own makeup, it looked pretty good with the exception of it being green! Then she did mine..... not so good. She thought it was pretty funny!

Why am I here?

A lot of us wonder at in one point in our lives, "why am I here." Unfortunately for me, this question comes to my mind more often than it should. My faith is something I must constantly feed. I get caught up in watching and reading my friends blogs..."she's so beautiful, her life must be perfect, I wish I could do that" are a lot of things that enter my mind as I read. I first must tell you when I feel the Holy Ghost in my life, its strong. I know exactly what I'm feeling at that point in time. During this weeks events I have been getting strong promptings about how important my job on earth is.
This week, at church, a man spoke of the importance of family. That sometimes a TV show, movie, or Internet, takes the place of the memorable relationships we should be building with our children. I have been told over and over again the importance of a mother, but this talk hit me deeper. I became a wife and a mother really young in my life, so patience and organization wasn't one of my strongest qualities. OK I don't have them at all! But we all have things in our live we need to work on right? Well I don't really know where I'm going with this, besides the fact I want to be better.
I want Lily to love her Father in Heaven and Savior Jesus Christ. I want her to listen to the spirit, do well in school, graduate seminary, marry in the temple, become a mother, and know why she is on this earth.
I want Owen to know that his Savior lives, and that he died for HIM. I want him to listen to the promptings for his Father in Heaven, to make good friends, to serve a mission, and know what He was sent here on earth to do.
So I'm going to try the best to raise my kids, so that they know these things, and they know how important they are to me, and more so how much their Father in Heaven love them. So when the time comes they make these decisions for themselves! I LIVE for my family.................... ..................................... and chocolate!

Friends

These are my friends the Crooks.... dont be fooled by the name, they will steal nothing but your HEART BOO HOO HOO!!!! I helped them pack a little yesterday for their drive to S. Carolina! Im not used to other people leaving me. I am usually the one leaving! Anyway I will miss them but I am also excited for their new experience in a whole other world!

Things I love about them:

Jeremy: He is such a dedicated Dad. Not to mention he has the best toe touch I have ever seen!
Jaime: We have soo much in common. Its unfair it was just for 6 months! She is beautiful and would do anything for anybody.
Maggy: Always so sweet to Lily. Made sure I always kept lilys room clean so they could have fun playing dolls, tea set, or anything that involved girlyness! She loves to be girly...I LOVE IT!
Emmy: She has the cutest little voice you have ever heard... I could sit there and listen to her talk for hours. She and lily sometimes had a love hate relationship...but mostly love!
Zack: Cant stop this kid from smiling! AND I love his bald little head!

YOU WILL BE MISSED!!!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY BRITTNEY! (and Birthday)

I'm not sure I have ever posted anything on Brittney's blog before... i suppose mothers day would be the appropriate time to start. Is it weird that i'm jealous of the attention this blog gets from my wife?? I'm totally kidding Brittney.
This post is to let you know Brittney, that you are an amazing person! You work harder than anyone I know and it doesn't go unnoticed. It's too bad that we as husbands have grown accustomed to the one day a year we are "supposed" to celebrate you as mothers. The things you do for me and the kids should be celebrated everyday and that hasn't happened so far, for that I am sorry. It's safe to say that this year has been a little tougher for us, but I know that will only make us stronger. I remember the man you married, I know he's in here somewhere.. and I will try my hardest to get him back.
Being a mother has to be one of the hardest jobs in the world. I find it hilarious when people ask me... "Does your wife work, or is she a stay at home mom?" ... I say "yes". I can see how you might feel lost in your role as a mother... with all the dirty laundry, diapers, toy messes, dirty dishes, bills, lily's OCD breakfast habbits, owen's tantrums, my messes, ironing, lunches for he kids, more dishes, more laundry, grocery shopping, trying to squeeze in american idol, sewing for people at church, sewing for friends, sewing for yourself, more laundry and dishes.......uuugggghhhhhh im exhuasted just typing all that. I can tell that you feel defined by all these things, that you don't have a chance to be "you"... I want you to know that while it is simply a miracle that you can get all these things done, I see you as the beautiful, funny, smart, talented, caring person that I married. You are not defined by the role you play as a mother but you are strengthened by the challenges you face along the way.
We have the most amazing kids in the world and that is because of you. It's not difficult to see how much the kids love you, if they had their wish.... you would be by their side forever. They are extremely lucky to have you as their mother.
I hope you can have a wonderful day today, and that you realize that all you do doesn't go without measure. I would be nothing without you, I love you very much.

Happy Mothers/Birthday

Love,
Brad

Just some happys...

As you know I really liked those delicious orange Nike's from Nordstroms, but while walking through the mall yesterday, I picked up these beauts! I actually don't think they look anything like this picture, but oh well, not everyone is photogenic. On the plus side they are half the price, and I picked out another pair of everyday shoes.... pictures to come!
I also picked this coach up from the DI for my craft room. When you look at this coach you are either thinking EWW! or your in LOVE!! When I first showed Brad, he told me it looks like it was brought up from the Titanic.... no, but it would make it just that much cooler! This velvet, one of a kind coach is in mint condition. At least I know Lil has good taste, she was ecstatic when I told her we were taking home the "leaf coach!!!"

Would you? huh... Huh...HUH!?

Dear people that read my blog, I have to tell ya, I have been a major sucker for craft blogs! I can get enough of all the cute things to be made! Tonight I made this darling scarf... It took me less than 30 minutes people! I have been talking to brad about doing a booth at this summers farmers market in Logan. It runs every Saturday. People bring their crafts, vegetables, and food and sell them. I guess my problem is I don't want to put a bunch of time into something, and not have anyone buy my things. So that's where you come in. I really don't even know who follows my blog, but if you do, you have seen some of the things I have done (Lil's dresses, skirts, wall hangings, etc...). Do you think it is something I should invest my time in? Obviously your not going to comment "no" so if you don't think so....don't comment.
Here is the scarf:

Do you like it? Would you buy it? What would you pay for it?

Just in case you want to make your own!

You will need 1/2 yard of fabric. For summer you will want something light! Cut fabric into 3 even strips... about 6 inches. Sew (right sides together) to make one long strip. If you bought a fabric that frays... you will need to ham all the edges. If you are lazy like me you buy a knit that doesn't!You will also need elastic thread. Wrap the thread around your bobbin (not to tight.... but not lose either HAHA). With normal thread on top and the elastic thread on your bobbin you can begin to sew. Make sure you back stitch your beginning and end. Sew right down the middle of your fabric (sew with the right side facing up!). You don't have to be exact because its gathered. When you start to see it gather... try not to get too excited by how stinkin cute its turning out....stay concentrated!!Last but not least sew down your fabric one more time to make it more gathered... about 1/4 to 1/2 an inch apart from the first...and WALA!!

But really it would really help if you dropped me a little comment, whether or not I should do this. It a big commitment, and I need the confidence I will do well.
If you have an idea on what you would buy something like this for... or one of Lily's dresses... please add that in your comment! I love you ALL... who ever you are!
